in particular there is a group of people who have been pretty much totally deracinated from developing or being capable of developing their own opinions on media or humor or life. because of social media and maybe also they r very young. there is a general valence to that part of fandom: the incorrect quotes, the Canva-post-derived politics, the memetic vocab + jokes and like this weird very limited view of redditizedhistory and culture+literature consisteing of the binding of Isaac and twoheadedcalf poem. and so there is just genuinely not the ability to process things that haven’t been run through a filter of accessibility. and WFA, which has BEAUTIFUL art and lots of very sweet moments, IS super accessible and its also sort of been through the preapproved foundfamily neoliberal kitsch machine and come out with a passing grade. but yes it is missing that like elusive Something and it also lacks a seriousness and it isnt the Characters. it’s something else. Men also r going to be the one who GENERALLY prefer your fightheavy “”””grimdark””” comics, as opposed to women who doooo generally prefer social relational content. I rly hesitate to endorse a lot of Canon dc tumblr’s posts about the fanony WFA-style stuff bc it seems so clear that a the latter is enjoyed primarily by a group of very young people and it also feels like there’s a weird power imbalance intellectually between fanon and canon people. Should the maknae have taken those numerous schedules in such high volume environments, she would have likely suffered from things such as; heightened stress levels, impaired balance, avoidant behavior along with mental and physical fatigue. Since this condition was not passed down through genetics there is little to no chance of it deteriorating or spreading to the side remaining intact, but Himari and KQ Entertainment are taking preventive measures to assure that her health remains at this stable point.

The brands rejected managed to find some way of associating this ever growing producer to their houses through photoshoots and even showed off the easy synergy she creates with other artists like Cha Eunwoo - who posed with her for Saint Laurent. though it's not an entirely accurate statement and the metaphor isn't a perfect one by a long shot, the phrase "the sun rises in the east and sets in the west" absolutely consumes me whenever i think about fengqing. even moreso when you consider that south doesn't always mean down directionally, but is often used as a descriptor or synonym for down. so you have feng xin (east), mu qing (west), and the southern territory they share and preside over (the point beneath them, the horizon that the sun crests over and sets beneath).

sunrise and sunset are unmatched in their power and beauty and it's hard to say which one people love more. sometimes the dawn gains a few more hours while the dusk loses some and vice versa, but both will always be present without fail. sunrise bursts over the horizon and brings with it an invigorating heat and sunset paints the sky in vibrant hues that leave you filled with warmth and steady peace.

Im feeling about as hopeful for this race as i was for the 2022 midterms (not very) and im obviously doing everything in my power - donating, phone banking - to be pleasantly surprised again but im looking at SO many conflicting pieces of data that this year im genuinely unsure of what's going on. This is just gonna be rambling and noncohesive cause I really just need to put my feelings somewhere.

I have had this account since March 2012. I was 15 years old. I am now 27. I am still here. Now I wasn't as active for a few years, especially during college (really only coming back for the big things). But whenever I am having a rough time I always come back to two things: Harry Potter and One Direction. I look back on the height of my One Direction obsession so fondly, like I really cherish those years when the only thing I wanted to talk and think about was what these 5 boys were doing. God this is so hard to even articulate like I spent so much of my time loving them. To this day I love them. Just like countless other people on here, I had a really tough adolescence and there were times when the only thing keeping me afloat was the promise of a video diary, a behind-the-scenes YouTube video, an album release, and the list goes on. I used to read fanfiction in class. I would leave class to go to the bathroom and watch the Vevo releases. I would watch the videos 6 times to make sure I didn't miss anything. I feel like I know them. I know I don't and never really will. But they were my everything and I don't think I ever properly grieved them breaking up. Even though I knew what the "hiatus" really meant, there was a small part of me that always hoped to replicate the unbelievable happiness that I once had at the height of this whole experience. Liam dying has really solidified the fact that like I am no longer a teenage girl sitting in her room trying to escape her stressful life (I say this as I am sitting in my room crying over One Direction in the year 2024).

There is such grief. Like I said I am sitting in my room in LA which is a city I moved to to pursue a career in social media. This is a career path I found myself on BECAUSE of One Direction. I found my passion for creating content, pop culture, and connecting with people across the globe while obsessing over these 5 boys. They touch and influence my life to this day. I can genuinely say that I love them, and I was feeling ridiculous yesterday because I am 27 years old, but I have decided to just accept that this death has deeply shaken me and I need to give myself the grace and just allow myself to feel this. I feel so so so weird, so devastated. One of the hardest parts about this is not feeling like I can accurately express how I am feeling to people who weren't hardcore Directioners from the beginning like they just will never ever be able to understand and that is making this hard. Like people don't respect the grief and you feel like you have to justify yourself. This will be affecting me for a good while but I am gonna have to hide it.

God this is so so sad. I feel so much sadness and devastation for his mom, dad, sisters, his little boy, his gf, Maya, the boys, and all of us. The whole situation is so upsetting. So deeply disturbing. Where do we go from this? I feel like I have had a bucket of cold water thrown over my head. I will never forget where I was when the news dropped. I immediately called my best friend (we really bonded and solidified our friendship through obsessing over One Direction together) and we just sat on the phone together. I called my mom and cried and she had to tell me to make myself tea with sugar to help with the shock. I can honestly say I am still in shock. None of this is really sinking in. I saw a TikTok that said it was such a special cultural moment that we lived through, and being able to connect with people who know what is going on and like the gravity of the situation while also still being in our adulthood, is really beautiful. Like you really just had to fucking be there it was magical and it was SO MUCH fun. I need to see more videos of Liam being just a silly guy cause I used to absolutely crack up from these videos. That is what the internet is at its best.

2nd step - Kinda weird that on this entire stair case only one riser has a shadow

At the bottom of the stairs, I'm trying to regroup and figure out what the hell to do, the most basic, rudimentary, non-standard life skills I knew at this point in my life came from my girl scout years lost in the mists of time, and very most definitely included no knowledge on what to do if confronted by a motherfucking BAT.

Conclusion: This bat has been hanging out in this brightly lit stairwell, just chilling while the constant bedlam only small children can produce rages around him. This bat is not WELL, he is not RIGHT, he is going to give us all the rabies and grin while doing so.

I'm trying to alert my mom and brother to the situation unfolding without startling the bat and setting it off, so I'm emphatically whispering it at them. My mom has had a couple of glasses of wine at this point though, so she isn't picking up what I'm putting down, and I keep repeating myself to the point I'm whisper screaming at her and and whisper hysterically laughing, because at this point my emotional responses have done what I already should have, which is to say, fucked right off.

I grab her arm in exasperation to lead her to the stairs and point at it and she just. doesn't. see. it. I have to lead her up to the 5th step before she finally sees it at which point she yells "Hey it's a bat!" And I whisper scream "What are you doing? Are you trying to get us rabies-bat-murdered?!?!?"

I go to the kitchen to look up Animal Control, and I hear her and my brother discussing strategies for getting rid of it. I'm trying to tell them to let Animal Control deal with it, but for whatever reason they've decided to stand their ground against the bat (the reason is wine).

Their weapons of choice? A WICKER BREAD BASKET AND A COAT HANGER.

So once I've realized how committed they are to this terribly stupid course, I just ask them to wait long enough for me to barricade my kids in their rooms, because unlike their grandmother and uncle***, I am not here for toddlers getting rabies-bat-murdered.

We're locked away, and I hear crashing, thumping, and shouting going on, and after eons later my brother came to tell me they got it.
